Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you begin — from how compounded medications work to what happens if you're not approved.
Medications
Compounded semaglutide contains the same active ingredient — semaglutide — found in brand-name Ozempic® and Wegovy®. It is not the brand-name drug. Compounded versions are prepared by FDA-registered licensed compounding pharmacies using pharmaceutical-grade ingredients. They are not FDA-approved finished products, but are legally prescribed and dispensed when a licensed physician determines it appropriate for a patient.
Yes — compounded tirzepatide contains the same active ingredient as Mounjaro® and Zepbound®, targeting both GLP-1 and GIP receptors simultaneously. It is compounded by a licensed pharmacy, not the brand-name drug. Many patients find tirzepatide delivers superior metabolic results, with clinical trials showing higher average weight reduction compared to semaglutide alone.
Both semaglutide and tirzepatide are self-administered as a once-weekly subcutaneous (under the skin) injection. Your medication ships with detailed administration instructions, and your physician will guide you on proper technique. Most patients find it straightforward after the first use.
Compounded GLP-1 medications require refrigeration (36–46°F / 2–8°C). They ship with cold-chain packaging to maintain integrity during transit. Keep them refrigerated upon arrival and use within the timeframe specified on your prescription label.
Switching between therapies is possible and handled through your physician. If enrolled in the Grace Care Plan, your monthly physician review is the ideal time to discuss a therapy change. Your physician will evaluate your progress and determine whether a switch is appropriate.
The Process
You complete a confidential 5-step health assessment online — it takes under 10 minutes. An independent board-certified physician reviews your profile within 1 business day. If approved, you'll receive a payment link and your prescription is sent to the pharmacy. Medication typically arrives within 3–5 business days of approval.
No in-person visit is required. Everything is handled remotely. Some patients may require a brief telehealth video or phone call with the reviewing physician before a prescription is issued — this is not uncommon and can be scheduled at your convenience.
If a physician determines you are not currently a candidate, you will receive a detailed explanation via email. The consultation fee applies regardless of outcome. You are welcome to reapply if your health profile changes. We believe every patient deserves an honest assessment — and that means physicians give their independent clinical judgment without pressure to approve.
Physician review takes up to 1 business day. Once approved and payment confirmed, medication ships from our partner compounding pharmacy. Most patients receive their first shipment within 3–5 business days of approval. Tracking information is emailed when your order ships.
Grace Longevity is a health technology platform — we connect patients with independent, licensed physicians and licensed compounding pharmacies. We do not practice medicine and we do not employ physicians. Every clinical decision — candidacy, dosing, prescription — is made entirely by the independent physician reviewing your case. This model allows us to keep the experience seamless, fast, and private-pay.
Cost & Insurance
No. Grace Longevity is entirely private pay. We do not accept insurance or file claims. This model allows us to eliminate prior authorizations, formulary restrictions, and the delays that come with insurance — so your care is faster, more private, and entirely on your terms.
Compounded semaglutide starts at $299 per month. This includes your physician consultation, prescription, and pharmacy dispensing. Your exact monthly cost depends on your prescribed dose, which is determined by the physician and adjusted over time based on your response.
Compounded tirzepatide starts at $349 per month. As with semaglutide, this includes physician consultation, prescription, and pharmacy dispensing. Your exact cost is tied to your prescribed dose, which is adjusted by your physician over time.
If you are not enrolled in the Grace Care Plan, you are under no obligation to continue. If you are enrolled in the Grace Care Plan, a 30-day written notice is required to cancel or pause your membership. We recommend giving therapy at least 3 months to evaluate results, as GLP-1 medications work gradually.
Safety & Privacy
Compounded medications prepared by FDA-registered 503A or 503B compounding pharmacies are subject to strict quality standards. Our partner pharmacies use pharmaceutical-grade active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and follow USP compliance guidelines. Compounding has a long history in American medicine — it is the same practice used by hospital pharmacies to prepare IV medications and specialized treatments every day.
All physician reviews are conducted by independent, board-certified physicians licensed in your state. Grace Longevity works with a network of licensed healthcare professionals specializing in metabolic health and obesity medicine. Every physician operates under their own medical license and makes independent clinical decisions.
All protected health information (PHI) you submit is encrypted using 256-bit TLS encryption and is handled in accordance with HIPAA. We do not sell, rent, or share your health information with third parties. Your data is used solely for the purpose of physician evaluation and treatment coordination.
The most common side effects of GLP-1 receptor agonists are gastrointestinal — nausea, reduced appetite, occasional vomiting, and constipation — particularly during the dose escalation phase. These typically diminish as your body adjusts. Your physician will discuss your full risk profile during the review process and adjust your protocol accordingly. This is not a complete list of possible side effects; your physician is your best resource for individual guidance.
Grace Care Plan
